Whiskey2 Range
Bakalian Family Distilling uses the Squarrel™—our square whiskey barrel—for the Whiskey² range because it enhances the interaction between the spirit and the wood during aging while allowing us to experiment with a variety of wood types. The square design increases surface area contact and creates unique flow patterns inside the barrel, helping the whiskey extract deeper color, aroma, and flavor from the wood. By building the Squarrel with staves made from different woods, we can layer distinct characteristics into the spirit, combining traditional whiskey aging with innovative barrel design to create a richer, more complex whiskey.

Starting life as a corn sour mash, this Whiskey matured on Charred American White Oak, Yellow Birch and Mongolian Oak.

Single Barrel & Blended Whiskey
Bakalian Family Distilling ages our Single Barrel and Blended Whiskeys in 5, 10, and 30-gallon American white oak barrels, where the smaller barrel sizes increase the interaction between the whiskey and the oak to develop rich color, aroma, and flavor. Some barrels are selected and bottled individually as Single Barrel releases, showcasing the unique character that develops in each cask. Others are carefully combined to create our Blended Whiskey, allowing our distillers to balance flavors from multiple barrels and craft a smooth, complex spirit while maintaining consistency from batch to batch.
Single Barrel (2025 Release)
Produced from locally sourced ingredients, this award winning Single Barrel Whiskey was aged for two years and bottled in Bryan, Texas.
BFD created this whiskey to be enjoyed in the Texas heat, pour over a large cube of ice and let the bold character and nuanced flavors unfold in to a smooth yet complex experience.
Bottled at barrel proof of 100 proof/50% ABV.
Blended Whiskey (2026 Release)
This blended whiskey brings together select 5 and 10 gallon barrels, capturing the rich character developed through small-barrel aging. The blend is then finished on amburana wood, imparting distinctive notes of cinnamon, vanilla and sweet spice that round out the whiskey with a warm aromatic finish.
