Bakalian Family Distilling: Crafted With Passion
Bakalian Family Distilling is a small, family-owned distillery run on a picturesque family farm by Brazos County locals. We craft premium spirits in small batches, pouring our heart into every bottle and welcoming our community to experience the difference.
Now this is where we tell you some long winded story about how we came to be, maybe we’d throw in a story about how we were shining in the back woods and we got to a point that we thought we better go legal before the Law kicked in our doors. But we don’t have a marketing budget for that! So we’ll tell you what REALLY happened;
- We loved drinking Whiskey,
- We decided to try making it and we loved doing that to,
- People started buying it and they loved drinking it too,
- So we thought “Hey lets build a website so more people can get in on the love”.
We reckon our whiskey is a pretty BFD and we think you’ll agree. We guarantee we are better at making whiskey than we are at marketing!

2020
A Hobby Turns into a Business
After years of moonshining in the well pump house on the family ranch, Nick goes legal
2022
First Batch Crafted
After years of perfecting recipes, our first whiskey is bottled and shared with friends and family.
2024
Opening Our Doors
We relocated the distillery to enable us to open the tasting room to the public.
2025
BFD Goes Home
After 12 months of blood, sweat, tears and cash spent on fixing up the building our landlords terminated our lease with no notice. So, we moved back to the ranch where BFD started.
2026
Growing Together
With every bottle and every visitor, our story continues—rooted in passion, family, and community.
